You are facing the current situation :

The  taskbar thumbnail preview during the RemoteApp utilization doesn't show the preview of the application content, we can view only the name of the application :

You should be able to activate the live thumbnails for your RemoteApps by following this procedure :

Go to gepedit.msc and enable this GPO :

Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Remote Desktop Services/Remote Desktop Session Host/Remote Session Environment/Use advanced RemoteFX graphics for RemoteApp

When done, use this command to enforce the gpo :

gpupdate /force

Please note that enabling Advanced RemoteFX graphics for RemoteApp will also allow the "snap layout" feature of Windows 11 to work as well !

So check the following :

- Enable Advanced RemoteFX graphics for RemoteApp (Windows mentions 2008, but it's not limited to this OS !)

- Set a minimum color depth of 32 bits for RemoteFX to work as expected.

- You'll also find numerous settings in these GPOs that you can test to achieve the desired result for your situation.

According to our customers using this feature, the settings configured in these GPOs apply better to Windows 2019 & Windows 2022 than to Windows 2016.
